The International Committee meeting is held each year during the American Academy of Dermatology meeting. National (or lager geographical regions) societies, organizations or clubs of dermatopathologists are invited to nominate a representative for membership to the Committee.
ICDP provides an opportunity to monitor and discuss problems arising in individual countries in regards to the practice of dermatopathology and its recognition as a subspecialty.
ICDP, through its national societies, aims to identify available training posts and encourage development of these as well as international exchange of training opportunities.
ICDP has focused on the training requirements needed in dermatopathology, has established an International Examination and a process for International Certification.
